FEES FOR COUNSELLING
The Australian Psychological Society recommended hourly fee for psychologists is $251 per consultation.
Thinkahead ’s fees are $250 for an initial consultation and $235 for subsequent consultations. Fees are payable at the end of the sessions vis cash or credit card.
FEES FOR CHILD & ADOLESCENT ASSESSMENTS
Our vision at Thinkahead is to unlock a child’s true potential and work with families to build on their child’s strength and remedy their weaknesses. We tailor our assessment process to your child and family’s circumstances. We incorporate where possible feedback from parents, teachers and the young person themselves to obtain a comprehensive overview.
Our assessment fees are as followed:
- The initial Parent Consultation fee is $335 – The consultation is to gain insight into current concerns, plan for the assessment and discuss intervention goals. The session will also explore your child’s abilities, challenges and developmental history.
- The Initial Child Consultation fee is $285 – The consultation is to establish rapport with the child prior to conducting psychometric assessments and to observe sibling dynamics; identify core issues of any cognitive, learning, social, emotional or behavioural issues
- The parent feedback session is $285 – the psychologist will talk through the assessment results and follow up recommendations. You will also be able to ask questions about ‘What’s next?’ to make sure you are on the right path after the assessment.
- The psychometric assessment and test battery is $300 per hour. The number of hours required to conduct an assessment will depend on the nature of the assessment. To obtain a quote please call 02 99813003
Fees also include review of previous medical reports,; consultation/interviews with relevant third parties such as Day Care Centers, Schools, Pediatricians, GP’s etc in order to obtain a comprehensive history of the child/adolescent to assist in formulating a clinical diagnoses.
Medicare rebates are available for psychological treatment of eligible mental health conditions. You will be able to claim a proportion of your fees from Medicare if your doctor assesses you to be eligible for psychological services under Medicare, and if you have a referral and a “mental health care plan”. If you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare will reimburse up to $84.80 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Alternatively, a proportion of your fees may be redeemable from your private health insurance, depending on your health plan.
If you have private health insurance or want to partially claim the Medicare Rebate Fee then please bring with you your medicare card as you will be able to claim part of the consultation out our office.
