Fees and Rebates

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended hourly fee for psychologists is $300 per consultation.

The AAPi recommended fee for a (45-50 min) consultation is $300, however Thinkahead’s psychologist’s fees are $285 per (45-50 mins) consultation.   Fees are payable at the end of the session by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card.

Our fees for other allied health services are as followed:

* Medicare Rebate for Psychology ($93.35) is only claimable for consultations or assessments.

Please note that letters and other requested paperwork completed outside of an appointment will attract an additional fee (the clinician’s hourly rate) based on the time spent completing them.  Phone consultations occurring outside of appointments may also incur an additional fee.

FEES FOR CHILD & ADOLESCENT ASSESSMENTS

Our vision at Thinkahead is to unlock a child’s true potential and work with families to build on their child’s strength and remedy their weaknesses.  We tailor our assessment process to your child and family’s circumstances.  We incorporate where possible, feedback from parents, teachers and the young person’s self to obtain a comprehensive overview.  Our multidisciplinary approach ensures we consider all aspects when making complex diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Global Developmental Delay.

Our fees include review of previous medical reports, consultation/interviews with relevant third parties such as Daycare Centres, Schools, Pediatricians, GP’s etc in order to obtain a comprehensive history of the child/adolescent to assist in formulating a clinical diagnoses.

REBATES

Medicare rebates are available for psychological treatment of eligible mental health conditions.  You will be able to claim a proportion of your fees from Medicare if your doctor assesses you to be eligible for psychological services under Medicare, and if you have a referral and a Mental Health Care Plan.  If you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare will reimburse a minimum of $93.35 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Alternatively, a proportion of your fees may be redeemable from your private health insurance, depending on your health cover.

If you have private health insurance or want to partially claim the Medicare Rebate Fee then please bring with you your medicare card as you will be able to claim part of the consultation at our office.

When you make an appointment at this practice, we reserve one hour of the psychologist’s time for you.
If you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please provide at least 2 business days notice, otherwise we will have to charge the full fee.

2 business days’ notice is the minimum period required that may allow us to offer the appointment time to another person who is on our cancellation waiting list.
